Portland, Maine, October 2, 2020 – SCORE Portland has announced that it has named Jonathan Trumper as its next Chapter Chair, following Nancy Strojny, who will continue with SCORE as a mentor and Assistant District Director.
“We thank Nancy for her dedicated, continued service and enthusiastically welcome Jonathan as chair,” said Amy Bassett, SBA District Director. “He will continue the strong leadership of this chapter. We are very fortunate to have the SCORE Portland chapter as a valued resource for the Maine small business community.”
Jonathan will coordinate community outreach, recruiting, the chapter’s small business counseling and workshop programs. He has extensive experience as an advocate and agent for startups, prominent organizations, artists and public figures in New York, Hollywood and the Silicon Valley. He has worked across media, technology and entertainment to create new businesses and build brands.
SCORE Portland provides small business mentoring and education through virtual and email counseling, and a series of virtual business workshops. The chapter’s 84 volunteers have an average of 15 years of business experience, with a wide range of expertise.
“Notably, the SCORE Portland chapter was the recipient of the 2019 SBA Chapter of the Year award, due to its dedicated volunteer mentors and chapter leadership,” said SCORE CEO Bridget Weston. "The chapter offers high-quality client service, workshops, and resources.”

A resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Adminisration (SBA), SCORE has 135 volunteers in the state, who donated more than 18,705 hours in 2019 to help clients start or grow a small business. In 2019, there were 356 new businesses started and 923 jobs created with SCORE Maine’s assistance.
